Brooklyn Music School (BMS) is happy to offer tuition assistance ranging from 10% to 30% for eligible students. Financial aid awards are determined by assessing the applicant's income, expenses, and any exceptional circumstances, with the actual amount subject to the availability of resources. It's important to understand that financial assistance cannot be combined with any other type of involvement or service provided to or for BMS.

All qualifying individuals who complete the application process will receive an aid award, and we encourage all to apply.

To qualify for financial assistance, BMS requires comprehensive disclosure regarding your financial circumstances. Specific documentation is obligatory, and your Financial Assistance Application will remain incomplete until all requisite materials are provided. HOW IS MY AWARD CALCULATED

Brooklyn Music School awards between 10-30% aid to ALL applicants, there is no income cap for Financial Aid.

The award amount is based on the following calculation:

Net Monthly Income - Net Monthly Expenses = Surplus/Deficit

  • Net Monthly Income represents the average post-tax income received by a family/individual in a given month, encompassing wages and/or other income sources such as government benefits or rental income.

  • Net Monthly Expenses denote the total average living costs incurred by a family or individual each month.

  • Surplus signifies the remaining income after deducting all expenses.

  • A family/individual experiences a Deficit when their expenditures exceed their income.

  • The Surplus or Deficit amount then serves as a basis for determining the awarded financial aid.

* Families enrolling two or more children in BMS programming will be considered for a higher aid award.

Important note: Persons interested in applying for financial aid are required to register for a full year, pay the $45.00 registration fee and the first payment installment of the class.
