Early CHildhood Classes
Mini Maestros
Saturdays 10am - 10:45; Instructor: Mr. Fitz

In this class, students will be introduced to different musical instruments and styles by the instructor and special guest professional musicians. This class explores musical concepts such as tempo, dynamics, and timbre through musical activities and games. During certain classes, BMS instructors will attend classes to introduce and demonstrate a variety of instruments. Early Musicianship provides a musical foundation for students and acts as a great jumping off point for private lessons.
3s & 4s World Percussion Ensemble
Saturdays 11am - 11:45; Instructor: Mr. Fitz
$210/Summer Session
The 3s and 4s World Percussion Ensemble class introduces a variety of world percussion instruments to students including various drums, shakers, and other percussion instruments. In this collaborative learning environment students play solo and in groups while exploring musical concepts such as rhythm, finding the beat, phrasing, and pitch.
Youth Group PIANO Classes
Intro to Piano (ages 5 - 7)
Saturdays 9:00am - 9:45am; Instructor: Ms. Amanda Tabor

This Intro to Piano class is designed for beginning students! This 7 week class provides students with an engaging and interactive introduction to the piano, learning proper posture, developing technique, and beginning to learn finger numbers and the musical alphabet. In a supportive environment these young pianists will have a chance to learn the basics of the instrument and play as a group.
Group Piano Jr. A & B (ages 5 - 7)
Saturdays 10:00am - 11:00am; Instructor: Ms. Amanda Tabor

This Jr. Group Piano class is designed for all returning 5-7 year old piano students. This 7 week class provides students with an opportunity to continue their piano studies over the summer while building on the progress they've made throughout the year. In this class students will review previous musical concepts, as well as continue to build and develop technical skills and understanding of music notation and rhythms.
Group Piano Sr. A & B (ages 8 - 10)
Saturdays 11:00am - 12:00pm; Instructor: Ms. Amanda Tabor

This Sr. Group Piano class is designed for all returning 8-10 year old piano students. This 7 week class provides students with an opportunity to continue their piano studies over the summer while building on the progress they've made throughout the year. In this class students will review previous musical concepts, as well as continue to build and develop technical skills and understanding of music notation and rhythms. Students will also learn new and more advanced concepts and material, preparing them for more challenging material in the Fall!
Youth Theater Masterclasses
Stage Presence/Acting Brush Up
Masterclass - 8/17/2024; Instructor: Ms. Sarah Grace
9:30 - 11:00am - $45/class
Prerequisites: Previous acting experience required. Miss your regular acting class? Worried about the “summer slump” of your creativity? Want to get ahead of the pack when it comes to your performance skills? Come to this workshop to get even better at being heard, being seen, and expressing yourself on stage! Class will include improv, reading from “open scene” scripts, and working on student-specific needs as they are shown to the instructor.
Improv 101 A (ages 5-9 ) & Improv 101 B (ages 10-15);

Whether you’re simply missing the chance to be silly or creative, or you want to be more comfortable speaking in front of others, Improv 101 is a no-pressure class to gain confidence as a performer, or even as a person! Note the age range when signing up for the class, so you are with the age-appropriate cohort.
Audition Prep - Intro to Alice in Wonderland (ages 8+)
Masterclass - 8/17/2024 - 11:00am - 12:30pm - $45
This class uses the Fall play as a springboard to teach the “ins and outs” of a play audition. The instructor, who is also the director of the “Alice in Wonderland” show, will break down the audition process, and the students will read from the “Alice in Wonderland” script. Students are also highly encouraged to bring in their audition monologue, even if they have already auditioned for “Alice” in June, to workshop and improve their audition material!
ADULT CLASSES & ENSEMBLES
Adult World Percussion
Mondays, 6:30 - 8pm; Instructor: Mr. Fitz
$210/summer session
In this group percussion class, students of any experience level will learn and develop rhythmic skills in different time signatures, tempos, and feels. In a welcoming and supportive environment, students use hand drums such as the djembe and the congas to learn exercises for increasing power and dexterity. After gaining solid technique on the drums, students will learn rhythms from the Congo, West Africa, Cuba, Haiti, and Trinidad - all of which will improve rhythmic vocabulary and musicality!
Adult Improv 101 C
Saturday August 10th, 1:15 - 2:45pm; Instructor: Ms. Sarah Grace

Adult Piano Lab
Mondays, 6:00 - 7pm; Instructor: Mr. Grant Meyer
$238/summer session
This Piano Lab welcomes adult students of all skill levels. In each class there will be time for focused practice sessions, and each week will feature new material. Throughout this course, all students are encouraged to prepare a recital piece to perform at the end of the Summer. Students enrolled in this course will also have the opportunity to participate in a recording session, in which all students will be invited to record their pieces on a Steinway Grand in a professional recording studio!
Adult A Cappella Workshop (ages 16+)
Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8pm; Instructor: Dr. Sherrine Mostin
$315/summer session
In this a cappella workshop, singers of all experience and levels are welcome! Join us for weekly rehearsals that will cover concepts including healthy vocal technique, ear training, style, and the importance of rhythm, intonation, tone, blend, and balance within an a cappella ensemble! This class will use jazz, popular, and contemporary repertoire to explore these topics, and will culminate in a final performance!
Adult Guitar Lab
Thursdays, 6:00 - 7pm; Instructor: Mr. Sam Weissberg

This Guitar Workshop is for aspiring guitarists as well as guitarists with some experience! Learn/review the basics and improve your melodic and chord skills!
