Join us for a special night of music celebrating the debut release of saxophonist Nathan Bellott!
Recorded live in Lubec, Maine in summer 2023, way down east captures Bellott alone with his instrument and features music by the saxophonist himself, Ben Solomon, Björk and Duke Ellington.
“Lubec is the end of the road, the easternmost point in the country. Nights of introspection followed by early sunrises set the scene for this concert, the culmination of a month spent largely alone at the edge of the world. I hope this recording conveys the mystery, the beauty, and the quiet loneliness I felt staring out into the endless ocean.”
This concert will feature a very special guest, violinist Jeremías Sergiani-Velázquez! Currently the principal second violin with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Jeremías has been a friend of Nathan's for many years.
Brooklyn Music School's landmark theater is the venue for this concert, a 250 seat Spanish-style hall. The concert will begin promptly at 7:30pm and finish around 8:30pm.
