Nichalas Parker is an Actor, Singer, Director, and Teaching Artist new to Brooklyn, NY. He is excited to join the BMS Musical Theatre and Voice departments!
Nichalas started studying professional voice and performance at a young age after being accepted into the world-renowned Duke Ellington School for the Performing Arts. His inspiring love for performance grew as he attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia and received a BFA in Musical Theatre.
As a performer: Nichalas most recently joined the Brooklyn based devising company “Letter of Marque” where he performs in their Playwright’s Lab series. Nichalas has also played Shrek in "Shrek: The Musical," Miles Gloriosus in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” and the Cowardly Lion in “ The Wizard of Oz” at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia.
As a director: He has many credits, but is most excited to bring his experience in Theatre for Young Audiences to BMS with productions such as “Grace for President”, “Goosebumps: Phantom of the Auditorium”, and “No Easy Road to Freedom”. He also has a history of creating devised musical and cabaret pieces from individuals from 4 years old through adulthood!
With this, Nichalas has also had the opportunity to teach voice, acting, movement, and musical theatre techniques to students of all ages and abilities—with a focus in working with students with multiple disabilities with organizations such as St. Edmond’s Home for Children and HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy. Nichalas looks forward to learning and creating with the students and faculty at BMS!
